For years I was convinced that there were only a select few shops that I really seemed to find outfits that not only fitted well but that I liked. Whenever I went shopping I would walk past a large number or retailers telling myself that I knew where I needed to shop and convinced that there was no point looking anywhere else.

Recently I started to experiment with clothing from other stores and was pleasantly surprised to find that there was a number of places that previously I wouldn’t visit that seemed to have clothing suitable for me. I also had to understand that clothing shops vary their sizing drastically and rather than being adamant that I was one particular size, trying on a number of sizes until I found the one that fitted best. Since my discovery I have started to enjoy shopping for clothes again and found that as with anything, clothing stores do change over time and sometimes it is worth revisiting ones we had previously written off.

When it comes to buying clothes, as a woman, I find it very hard to know what size I will be from one shop to the next. Sizes vary drastically in some stores meaning that you can literally go up or down a size depending on where you buy from.

I recently visited a “H and M” store and was shocked to find that their small in one range was sized totally different to their small in another range in the same shop! After speaking to the shop assistant about it she explained that one range came over from America where their UK sizes are slightly different. This makes it almost impossible to be able to buy anything without trying it on and even harder to buy anything for someone else.

To really find clothing that fits well you do need to try on a few different sizes to get the best fit. This will avoid disappointment when you get home and mean you won’t have to go through the hassle of returning it. Some stores will also only offer an exchange or store credit if you return an item that isn’t faulty.

Designer clothes have been sort after by many people for years and years but with the expensive price tag they have often people are left unable to afford them or deciding that they are not worth the money.

Designer clothes vary drastically in price depending on what the item is and more importantly who the designer is. Jimmy Choo for example, is a popular shoe designer and they can sell upwards of one thousand pounds.

So by paying for a designer label are the quality of the shoes better and can you expect them to last longer? This is not really a yes or no answer as most designers use a better quality material to make the shoes from but often they are not designed for everyday use. You may find that they are more likely to assist you should you have an issues with the product outside the normal 28 day returns policy thou.

It’s that time of year again where we all try to get ‘beach-ready’ and start the hunt for the perfect swimwear for this season. But where do you start?! With so many different styles and designs all varying in price it can be a little bewildering.

First it’s important to take a look at what sort of figure you have, there’s no point in pressurising yourself to lose 3 stone before your holiday in a few weeks’ time as it’s simply not going to happen.

If you are conscious that you have a bit of a mummy-tummy or maybe you are more on the curvy side then you may prefer something like a tankini or a one piece that covers your tummy area, however there are some really great high-waisted bikinis in fashion at the moment that look great on curvy ladies too.

If you have more of a boyish figure that is straight up and straight down then a small bandeau style bikini can look great and ones with lots of detail and maybe frilled material can create the illusion of curves.

Whatever your figure you really can look great in swimwear it’s just a matter of find what’s right for you.

When you find out that you are pregnant you tend to start filling your head with ideas of little neat baby-bumps that are dressed in all the latest fashions sported by the pregnant celebs of that season. However when you come to buy said perfect outfits you are faced with one rack of uber casual lounge wear (if you’re lucky) in your usual high street stores and not much else. You then turn to your current wardrobe and convince yourself that you’re sure some of it will still fit when you get a bump, after all how big can one person get??! The answer? Well let’s just presume that your current wardrobe is very unlikely to see you through the whole of your pregnancy.

So where do you turn? The internet.

Thankfully there are plenty of yummy-mummy types out there who have realised the problems pregnant women face in trying to find fashionable yet comfortable maternity wear and there is a wide range of options online to suit all occasions. So get online and order some fashion gems, but just ensure that the company you order from has a good returns policy just in case the items are not right once you get them home.
