  • Ordering clothing from catalogues

Years ago, it seemed that almost everyone used to have a catalogue delivered to their house in which they could order clothes. With most retailers now having websites where you can browse and order items of clothing, companies that send out catalogues is getting less and less.

If you do still have a catalogue through or decide to order online it is important that you understand the terms and conditions of the sale. Obviously you cannot try items on so there is often a higher percentage of people having to return items. Some people decide to order the item in two different sizes and then return the one that doesn’t fit. You need to see if there is a fee to return items such as a delivery charge. If there is, you may have to consider if you really want to order two or just order one.

Some catalogues and online stores allow you to having credit on your order. They will often entice you in with discounts off your first order. These types of finance packages are often quite high APR so be sure you can pay them off quickly to avoid interest.

  • What clothing to wear to a yoga session

If you fancy trying something new that will help tone your body whist relaxing your mind then Yoga is just for you. Yoga has been practiced for hundreds of years and has shown to have many health benefits. More and more sports facilities and gyms have decided to offer yoga classes ranging from the beginners to the expert.

If you are trying out yoga for the first time then you may not want to splash out on expensive clothing right away until you know whether it is for you or not. For the first few sessions you can simply wear comfortable clothing such as leggings and a t-shirt. If you are going to wear jogging bottoms it is probably better to wear slightly tighter fitting ones or ones that are gathered at the leg as with many of the poses you will need to be able to use your feet without the risk of tripping over. Tight fitting running trousers are often the best to wear paired with a good sports bra and t-shirt to allow you to move with ease whilst still being comfortable and supportive.

You should try and invest in a yoga mat as soon as possible, although some places will allow you to hire one, but if you are going to be doing it long term then it is well worth the small investment.

  • Finding the right sportswear

Regardless of if you are a sports fanatic or just starting out, it is important to wear the correct clothing and shoes to avoid injury and stay safe when exercising. If you are going to take up running, then you should really invest in a good quality pair of running shoes. These are often different to fashion trainers. A good pair of running shoes should support your feet in the right places and can even correct some posture issues. Most sports shops that sell running shoes have technology that allows them to check how you run and advise the best sort of trainers to buy. They will also check what type of terrain you run on such as tarmac or grass as again this can have an influence on what type of shoes you should wear.

If you are going to be cycling or running during the time of day when it is dark then you need to ensure you have lights fitted to your bike and wear reflective clothing. You may also want to invest in a head torch to light up the way in front of you.

Yoga is a great way to relax and benefit from exercise at the same time. You may want to invest in a yoga mat as the floor can be quite harsh on your body. You should also wear quite fitted clothes to avoid tripping over when balancing.

  • Mother’s day gifts

Mother’s day is almost upon us and many people are frantically searching the shops for the perfect gift. Mother’s day is often treated differently from family to family with some making a huge fuss and others just perhaps sending a card or giving their mum a quick call.

You may feel pressured into spending a lot of money on Mother’s day and with prices of flowers put up high, it is easy to quickly spend more than you can really afford.

When buying gifts you need to think carefully about how much you want to spend and stick to it. Sometimes it is cheaper to buy a few bunches of flowers and make up your own bouquets rather than having one done at a florist. You may also decide to buy a gift bag and fill it with lots of little things that you know your mother may like.

You can often get bath bombs, face masks, jewellery and make-up quite cheaply from high street stores and create your own little goodie bag, much cheaper than if you were to buy a premade one.

The most important part of Mother’s day is the time you can spend on the phone or in person with your mum, not the amount of money you spend on a present.

  • The perfect gift for Valentine’s Day

With Valentine’s Day almost upon us, many men and women are scouring the market for the perfect gift to give to their loved one. Jewellery is often top of the list and with such a wide choice, there is often a piece of jewellery to fit every budget.
When looking for jewellery for Valentine’s Day you may want to buy ahead of time. Jewellers sometimes do increase their prices around this time and you may end up paying over the odds. Ideally, the best time to buy would be after Christmas when many of them have sales on.
A piece of jewellery can have many meanings. It may be that you see something that you know your partner would like or it may be that you want to find a piece that symbolises something. If your partner has a charm bracelet then you may want to get them a charm which shows love or family. If you are shopping for the male in your life then you may want to get them jewellery such as cuff links or a tie pin that is worn on special occasions.
If you are buying cheaper jewellery it may not come in a box. Putting the item in a box can really make the gift look special and also makes it a nicer way to present it. You can pick up a jewellery box cheaply online or in a jeweller’s shop.
