Clothes shopping for your children can be a massive cost for many families. Children grow so fast that they often need new clothes every month or so, especially when they are younger. Once they start school you may find yourself having to buy uniform more than one or twice a year as not only do they grow out of it but often it quickly becomes worn out.

Many of the supermarkets now do school uniform making the clothes relatively cheap to buy but you may need to shop around and experiment to find out which ones last and which ones do not. If the school your child goes to have a strange colour scheme then you may find it hard to find a uniform that fits in with their guidelines in the supermarkets and may have to fork out more money buying them online etc.

Something to consider is, often you can get a discount by buying uniform after the season has started or when it is out of season, for example, shorts or summer dresses in winter. If you can be organised enough to think ahead and buy clothing in this way you can often save a small fortune!

If you find that you have way too many clothes then it may be time for a good sort out. Many of us find it hard to chuck things away, often associating memories with certain outfits. A good way to decide if you want to keep something is to turn all your coat hangers around in the wardrobe, so they are facing the wrong way. Whenever you wear something and wash it, be sure to hang it back up the correct way. After six months have a look and any items that are still left the wrong way have not been worn and therefore would probably not be missed.

You have a few options when it comes to getting rid of second hand clothes. You can just chuck them away but this is a waste when there are so many charities calling out for clothing. You can take them to the charity shop or to a clothing bin or you could chose to sell them on social media sites, at a jumble sale or through sites such as Ebay. This will allow you to raise a bit of money to maybe treat yourself to a night away or a new outfit!

Clothing is not cheap and many of us spend a huge amount a year on clothes. If you have children you will probably be aware how often you have to replace their clothing due to damage or them simply growing out of them.

With this in mind, it is important to be able to try and look after your clothing to make it last longer. Washing clothes can cause damage over time. This is often done by washing clothes at a higher temperature than needed, constantly tumble drying clothes or washing them with other items where the colours run. Always wash clothes at the lowest temperature possible to get them clean. Try and avoid using the tumble dryer all the time as this will damage clothes over time. You should always try and wash clothes of a similar colour together to avoid running but you could also invest in some colour catching sheets should you need to wash them together.

Always read the label on clothing which will explain how it needs to be washed. This will tell you the ideal temperature, whether it needs to be hand washed and if it is suitable for tumble drying. Following all the steps above will make your clothes last longer and therefore save you money.

If you are classed as a plus size men or women then you may sometimes struggle to get clothes that you like in your size. Unfortunately, we seem to be of the opinion that anyone that is not within a certain size range will want to wear fashionable clothes, and obviously this is not the case.

Finding clothes can be a challenge at the best of times as many shoes size their clothes differently, so you may be a 12 in one shop and a 14 or 16 in another. This can make online shopping very hard and may mean that you have to spend hours trawling round the shops to get an item that fits like you want it too. Also different styles suit different people in terms of their skin tones, hair colour and body shape.

If you are finding that the size you are normally in seems to be coming up small, then there is no shame in moving up to another size if it feels more comfortable. Sometimes we ourselves struggle to try on something in a larger size as it can feel disheartening but surely how it fits and how you feel is more important than a number on a tag inside the clothing.
